`Okay, I'll bite... I have had my share of humorous, but embarrassing, smoking moments. I've lost count on the number of times I've lit the wrong end and nearly gagged from the drag. Or the times when I light one up only to realize I had a half-smoked one burning in the ashtray and take a few minutes to decide which one to put out. There was also the time, long ago when bic lighter had the adjustable flame, and i lit my date's hair on fire. Of course all those moments involved alcohol.
However the worst, and most embarrassing, moment involved no other intoxicants... unless coffee counts. I was having breakfast at a restaurant, back when they had smoking sections. It was actually a breakfast date. Our waiteress grabbed the ashtray to empty it and forgot to bring it back, so I was using the empty coffee cup. The waitress came back, with the ashtray and filled up my coffee cup. Without thinking I took a sip of coffee. I noticed the taste was a little off, but I continued drinking it anyway. About half-way through the cup my date asked if I'd gotten a new cup since I'd been ashing in my other... DOH!!!
